A-Level Physics Easter Exam Lab (Online)

A 4 × 2-hour small-group Exam Lab during the Easter break, using the Spacetime Engine to turn shaky Mechanics, Electricity and Fields into marks that show up on real exam papers.

Dates: 7–10 April 2026 (4 sessions)
Time: 1:00–3:00pm (UK time)
Level: Year 13 (strong Year 12)
Exam boards: AQA · Edexcel · OCR A · OCR B
Group size: Small group (max 6)
Fee: £300 – full Lab (all 4 sessions)

WHO THIS LAB IS FOR:

This Easter Exam Lab is designed for:

  • Year 13 A-Level Physics students (and strong Year 12s sitting early) who want a focused boost between mocks and final exams.
  • Students working roughly at grade C/B who are aiming to move towards B/A/A*.
  • Students who have seen most of the course but:
    • lose marks on multi-step Mechanics questions,
    • struggle to organise Electricity & circuits under time,
    • or find Fields and Nuclear/Particles confusing when wording gets dense.

It is not the right starting point if the student:

  • has large gaps in core GCSE Physics or Maths skills, or
  • has not yet covered the main Mechanics and Electricity topics in their A-Level course.

In those cases, a Topic Mastery Pack or a longer Foundation / Mastery Programme will usually be a better first step.

WHERE WE ARE TAKING YOU:

The goal of the Easter Exam Lab is to move your child from “I sort of understand the physics” to “I can turn that understanding into marks on the paper.”

  • More secure handling of forces, motion and energy in multi-step Mechanics questions.
  • Clearer, more systematic thinking in circuit problems – especially with internal resistance, I–V curves and multi-loop circuits.
  • Greater confidence with Fields and Nuclear/Particle questions that require careful reading and step-by-step reasoning.
  • A concrete sense of how an examiner-friendly Physics script looks – layout, units, vectors, significant figures and conclusions.

We can’t promise specific grades – but we can build the habits and exam behaviour that high-grade Physics students actually show in their scripts.

WHAT WE’LL COVER (HIGH-YIELD FOCUS):

Across the four sessions we focus on high-yield areas and exam behaviours that carry across AQA, Edexcel, OCR A and OCR B (Advancing Physics):

  • Mechanics & Energy execution
SUVAT, forces and Newton’s laws, work–energy–power and momentum in the kind of multi-step questions where students typically lose track of signs, directions or conditions.
  • Electricity & circuits under time
Circuit diagrams, Kirchhoff-style reasoning, internal resistance, I–V curves and power calculations – with strong emphasis on setting up equations cleanly and checking units.
  • Fields & Nuclear/Particle reasoning
Gravitational and electric fields, basic magnetism ideas, plus typical Nuclear/Particle questions that mix diagrams, definitions and calculations. We focus on reading carefully, extracting what is given and building a clear chain of reasoning.
We tune examples to the boards in the group.
The precise mix of questions can vary slightly based on who enrols (and which boards they sit), but the underlying skills we train are the ones that drive marks across all major exam boards.

HOW THE SPACETIME LAB RUNS:

Inside the Lab we run the Spacetime Engine in a small group over four linked sessions:

  • Session 1 – Diagnose & prioritise
Short baseline sets and exam-style questions across Mechanics, Electricity and Fields to see exactly where marks are currently lost, followed by a clear priority list for the Lab.
  • Sessions 2 & 3 – Teach the minimum & drill
We revisit just enough method and theory to unlock marks, then drill exam-style questions that look and feel like the real thing, including short timed sections and scripted model answers.
  • Session 4 – Timed sets, correction & next steps
We run focused timed sets, walk through mark schemes, and have students rewrite their work to higher-grade script standards, ending with concrete next steps tailored to their board and goals.

The aim is not to rush through every Physics topic, but to improve the quality and reliability of exam performance in the areas that most strongly move grades.

WHAT YOUR CHILD LEAVES WITH:

By the end of the Easter Lab, your child will leave with:

  • A mini question-level analysis (QLA) across the Mechanics, Electricity and Fields questions we’ve worked on.
  • A personal error bank that highlights the patterns in their mistakes (for example: sign errors, mis-reading diagrams, incomplete reasoning or missing units).
  • 2–3 focused sets of follow-up Physics exam questions to use over the next 4–6 weeks as exams approach.
  • A clear recommendation for the best next step inside Spacetime – for example a Topic Mastery Pack, Exam Accelerator or full A/A* Exam Lab, depending on their goals and timescale.

If you already learn with Spacetime one-to-one, this Lab plugs straight into your existing plan. If you are new to us, it can act as a high-quality diagnostic bridge into the right longer-term support.

PRACTICAL DETAILS & POLICIES:

How it runs (online):

  • Sessions are delivered live in our online classroom.
  • Students should join on a laptop or computer (not a phone) with stable internet, camera and microphone.
  • They’ll need pen, paper, a scientific calculator and their exam board’s Physics data & formula booklet if they have one.

Before the Lab:

  • We may send a short diagnostic task so we can tune the Lab to the group. It is not graded; it simply helps us target the highest-impact gaps.

Cancellations & changes:

  • Because this is a small group with limited places, we ask for at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or move a booking where possible.
  • If we ever need to reschedule a session, we will offer a suitable alternative time or make-up arrangement.

Full terms for lessons and packages are outlined on our main FAQ and policy pages. This page summarises how they apply to this specific Easter Exam Lab.

BOOK YOUR PLACE:

Places are limited to keep the group small and productive. Use the booking form below to reserve your child’s place on this Easter Lab and complete payment securely. You’ll receive a confirmation email with all the joining details.

If you cannot see a time or date that works, or if you are unsure whether this Lab is the right fit, please contact us or book a Free Grade Roadmap Meeting and we’ll help you decide.
