GCSE Maths – Structured Online Support That Turns Methods into Marks
For Year 9–11 students who are tired of “nearly there” working and want GCSE Maths to feel predictable – especially in real exam papers.
One-to-one GCSE Maths support for Foundation and Higher students, aligned to your exam board and target grade.
Who GCSE Maths Support Is For
This page is for you if your child is:
In Year 9, 10 or 11, taking GCSE Maths (Foundation or Higher).
Getting by in class but dropping marks on tests through method slips, weak algebra, fractions/ratio issues, or timing under pressure.
Sitting on Grade 3–4 and needs a clear route to a secure 4/5 (Foundation), or stuck around 5–6 and aiming for 7–9(Higher).
Capable, but anxious – especially when it comes to non-calculator questions, worded problems or unfamiliar exam questions.
Aiming for post-16 routes where Maths really matters: A-Level, IB, T-Level, college courses or apprenticeships.
If your child is already strong and wants to push from 7–8 to 8–9, we’ll use the Grade 7–9 Accelerator and Exam Technique & Final Papers packs more heavily.
Exam Boards, Tiers & Routes We Support
We support all major GCSE Maths specifications:
AQA GCSE Maths
Edexcel GCSE Maths
OCR GCSE Maths
Across boards, we support both:
Foundation tier – typically targeting Grades 4–5
Higher tier – typically targeting Grades 6–9
We focus on:
Core Skills: number, fractions/decimals/percentages, ratio & proportion, algebra basics, equations, inequalities, graphs
Shape & Space: angles, constructions, Pythagoras, trigonometry basics, area/volume
Data & Probability: averages, charts, probability, combined events
Exam Technique: reading questions carefully, choosing methods, showing working, and managing time.
The exact mix of topics depends on your child’s tier, exam board and current grade.
How We Teach GCSE Maths at Spacetime
GCSE Maths at Spacetime is not just extra worksheets. We use a consistent approach:
Diagnostic first
We look at recent tests, classwork and (if available) past-paper questions to see where marks are leaking – number basics, algebra, problem-solving, timing or exam technique.
Fix the foundations that unlock lots of marks
We don’t re-teach the entire course. We identify high-leverage skills – usually in number and algebra – that make many questions easier once they’re secure.
Teach clearly, then move quickly into practice
We use step-by-step explanations and examples, then move into exam-style questions and variations so the method sticks and can be used under pressure.
Train exam habits, not just topic recall
We help students read questions properly, spot what’s being tested, choose a method, show working clearly and check sensibly under time.
Track progress on real exam questions
Over time, we revisit similar question types and sections of past papers, so you can see whether marks and confidence are moving up – not just whether homework looked neat.
Lessons are live, one-to-one, and tailored to Foundation or Higher, but always within this structure.
GCSE Maths Packages
We don’t sell endless hourly lessons. GCSE Maths support is offered through clear packages with a fixed number of lesson credits, a recommended time frame and a sensible expiry.
That way there’s enough flexibility for real life, but not so much that momentum disappears.
You’ll choose the exact package (and tier/focus) in your Grade Roadmap Meeting or on our booking pages, but this is the basic structure:
1. GCSE Maths Topic Mastery Packs
Best for:
Students who are mostly okay overall but have one or two weak topics that keep tanking test scores – for example, fractions & decimals, algebra basics, factorising, equations/inequalities, graphs, ratio/proportion, or basic trigonometry.
What it does:
Targets one topic or a tight cluster of skills at Foundation or Higher level.
Rebuilds understanding with clear explanations, examples, and lots of targeted exam-style practice.
Aims to turn that topic from a “panic area” into something the student can recognise and attack confidently.
Typical size & pace:
Each Topic Mastery pack has its own number of lessons and target tier (Foundation or Higher).
Most Topic packs are designed to run over roughly 4–6 weeks of consistent lessons.
Expiry & why (approx.):
Expiry: 60 days from the first lesson.
The teaching plan assumes about 4–6 weeks of work, but 60 days gives a realistic buffer for illness, school events and family life, while keeping the pack short and focused so the topic doesn’t fade.
How you’ll book it:
On our GCSE Maths booking page, there will be a dedicated Topic Mastery section. From there you’ll be able to:
See Foundation and Higher Topic Mastery packs (for example, Fractions & Decimals, Algebra Basics, Equations & Graphs, Ratio & Proportion, Basic Trig), and
Choose the one that matches your child’s main weak area – or pick the closest and let us confirm after an initial diagnostic.
If you’re not sure which topic is the real bottleneck, you can always book a Grade Roadmap Meeting first and we’ll recommend the right pack.
2. GCSE Foundation Maths – Grade 4 Pass Accelerator
Best for:
Foundation students around Grade 3–4 who need a reliable Grade 4 (and ideally 5) to unlock post-16 options, and want a clear route instead of last-minute panic.
What it does:
Focuses on the core number, algebra and problem-solving skills that drive a large chunk of Foundation marks.
Cleans up methods, layout of working and common mistakes so students stop losing marks they could have secured.
Rehearses Foundation-style exam questions so the paper feels predictable rather than scary.
Typical size & pace:
Usually around 12–16 lessons over 10–12 weeks (pace adjusted to time left before exams).
Expiry & why (approx.):
Expiry: 120 days from the first lesson.
The teaching plan assumes a 10–12 week Accelerator, but 120 days (around 4 months) gives enough flex for mocks, school events and busy periods, while keeping the programme tight and exam-focused.
How you’ll book it:
On the GCSE Maths booking page, the Grade 4 Pass Accelerator section will show the available options for Foundation students. From there you’ll be able to:
See the outline and lesson count, and
Choose the Accelerator that fits your child’s timeline and current working grade.
If you’re unsure whether to start with Topic Mastery or go straight into an Accelerator, book a Grade Roadmap Meeting and we’ll advise honestly.
3. GCSE Higher Maths – Grade 7–9 Accelerator
Best for:
Higher students who are comfortable up to Grade 5–6 but want to break into 7–9, and who know that vague revision isn’t enough.
What it does:
Focuses on Higher-only content and higher-grade problem-solving, including algebra, functions, graphs, trigonometry, and multi-step questions.
Builds a timed-paper routine, so students get used to the length and difficulty of Higher papers.
Works on exam technique for 7–9 – choosing efficient methods, structuring solutions, and handling unfamiliar or “twist” questions calmly.
Typical size & pace:
Usually around 12–18 lessons over 10–16 weeks, depending on time left before exams and starting point.
Expiry & why (approx.):
Expiry: 120 days from the first lesson.
The teaching plan assumes roughly a term-length Accelerator, but 120 days (around 4 months) gives realistic flex while keeping the programme urgent enough to drive progress.
How you’ll book it:
On the GCSE Maths booking page, the Grade 7–9 Accelerator section will show options for Higher students. From there you’ll be able to:
See the outline and lesson count, and
Choose the Accelerator that fits your child’s timeline and target grade.
If you’re unsure whether a Full Mastery route or an Accelerator is better, book a Grade Roadmap Meeting and we’ll talk it through.
4. GCSE Maths Full Mastery Programme
Best for:
Students who have time (ideally starting in Year 10 or early Year 11) and want GCSE Maths to feel strong and stable across the whole paper, not just patched in a few topics.
What it does:
Systematically strengthens core number, algebra, geometry and data skills across Foundation or Higher.
Runs alongside school, helping students stay ahead of class, consolidate properly and avoid “Year 11 panic”.
Includes regular checkpoints using exam questions and mini-papers, so there are no surprises when exam season arrives.
Typical size & pace:
Usually around 20–24+ lessons over roughly 20–24 weeks (about 5–6 months), with pace adjusted to starting point and tier (Foundation or Higher).
Expiry & why (approx.):
Expiry: 240 days from the first lesson.
The teaching plan assumes a 20–24 week runway, but 240 days (about 8 months) allows for holidays, mock blocks and life events, while still keeping the programme moving at a sensible pace.
How you’ll book it:
On the GCSE Maths booking page, the Full Mastery section will show Foundation and Higher options. From there you’ll be able to:
See the programme length and basic outline, and
Choose the option that fits your child’s timeline, entry point and target grades.
If you’re hesitant about committing to a longer programme, book a Grade Roadmap Meeting and we can talk through whether a Full Mastery route or an Accelerator makes more sense.
5. GCSE Maths – Exam Technique & Final Papers Pack
Best for:
Students in Year 11 who broadly know the content but lose marks through timing, question choice, messy working or poor paper strategy – especially in the final 1–3 months before exams.
What it does:
Runs a tight cycle of timed paper sections → mark → rewrite → re-test, so exam behaviour becomes automatic rather than random.
Focuses on working layout, choosing efficient methods, checking, and managing time across Papers 1–3.
Helps students move from “I know this” to “I can do this in exam conditions, on schedule.”
Typical size & pace:
Usually 6–8 lessons run over 4–8 weeks, often closer to the exam window so the habits stay “warm” going into real papers.
Expiry & why (approx.):
Expiry: 60 days from the first lesson.
This pack is designed as a short, intense sprint close to exams; 60 days gives room for a couple of disruptions while keeping the pace high enough to actually change exam behaviour.
How you’ll book it:
On the GCSE Maths booking page, the Exam Technique & Final Papers section will show the available option:
GCSE Maths – Exam Technique & Final Papers Pack
If you’re unsure whether to prioritise content gaps or exam technique, book a Grade Roadmap Meeting and we’ll make a plan.
Who Will Teach GCSE Maths?
GCSE Maths at Spacetime is taught by specialist educators who focus on KS3 and KS4 so 11–16 students get support that matches school expectations and exam demands.
GCSE Maths Educator: Ved Mishra (Qualified Teacher)
Focus: GCSE Maths & GCSE Science
Ved supports GCSE students who need help with Maths and Science together, and focuses on:
Breaking down multi-step questions into simple, repeatable steps.
Helping students who are “okay in class but weak in tests” to handle real exam questions and timing better.
Supporting Higher students who are aiming to keep the door open for A-Level or other 16+ routes.
GCSE Maths Educator: Panisha Ajwani
Focus: KS3 & GCSE Maths
Panisha works primarily with KS3 and GCSE students. She focuses on:
Making number and algebra foundations solid so later topics feel less scary.
Helping students who struggle with confidence and exam anxiety feel more in control of their working.
Building habits of neat, logical working that examiners can follow easily.
This way, GCSE Maths students work with tutors who spend most of their time on 11–16 content and exam patterns, and who understand how to bridge the gap into post-16 courses when needed.
How the Grade Roadmap Meeting works for GCSE Maths
For GCSE Maths enquiries:
Your Grade Roadmap Meeting will normally be with a senior educator who understands GCSE routes and 16+ options.
In that call, you’ll review current working grade, tier (Foundation/Higher), exam board and time left, and decide whether to start with a Topic Mastery Pack, a Grade 4 Pass Accelerator, a Grade 7–9 Accelerator, a Full Mastery Programme, or an Exam Technique & Final Papers Pack.
If your family also needs support for KS3 Maths or GCSE Science/English, we’ll match those lessons with the most suitable educator from the wider Spacetime team.
Results, Proof & Next Steps
We don’t promise specific grades – there are too many variables. But we do:
Show you how we think about moving from one grade band to another in GCSE Maths.
Share patterns from students who have used Topic Mastery Packs, Accelerators, Full Mastery routes and Exam Technique packs.
Be honest about what’s realistic in the time and situation you have.
You can see examples of GCSE stories on our Results page, or you can go straight to a Grade Roadmap Meeting to talk about your child.
